Special Projects Fund Intern
As an intern, Stephanie Mehlman provides support to NYSHealth’s Special Projects Fund. She works closely with staff to identify and support projects that address important health care and public health issues in New York State that are outside the scope of the Foundation’s priority areas.
Ms. Mehlman previously served as an intern for the Research Management Department at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she supported process improvement initiative needs of the department and gained experience in managing the grant application process for hospital-based researchers. While an undergraduate, Ms. Mehlman worked on a quality improvement program at Ocshner Hospital that aimed to reduce the 30-day readmissions rate of Medicare outpatients.
Ms. Mehlman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from Tulane University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Health Administration degree from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, with an expected graduation date of May 2018.
